Lisa, Anna, David, Sebastian, Florian and Julian are Josie with Indie-Pop and Folk.

Six voices of our time calling out their lyrics bravely into the universe. Thoughts commuting between selfreflection and giving a fresh heart. Words and appeals that work so well, because they are lived by both sides – resonating in the audience and themselves. Like a warm summer rain falling on the hot concrete breathing life into tired minds – Josie’s atmosphere invites you to relax and dance at the same time with lifeblood. They want to create, share and change with their music. Something special.

Currently they are working on their debut album.

Starting as a duo, they grew to become a bunch of six in the meantime: JOSIE the band does not only grow memberwise but emotionally.

The foundation of this long time wish was laid by David and his neverending flow of ideas of songs and Lisa.

David’s light and present voice hits the listeners ears with its liveliness directly.

The soul voice of Lisa crafts her own personal style with her unique sound cosmos.

For their first feature-length engagement the duo was joined by another singer: Anna. She wins you over with her round, warm and clear sound of her voice and guides you to a soft comforting world.

The three voices are leading through insistent melodies and devote themselves to tonal harmonies completely since then.

It is not about being in the front or background, not about ego – it is about complement and support. Their diversity culminates in perfect accord. Everyone is a soloist, everyone is a backup singer.

This applies to our instrumentalist aswell, for they aren’t only superb on their instrument of choice, but they come up with wonderful voices too.

The vocal unit is substantiated with intense piano parts, which are deftly set both rhythmically and melodically. Whether it is extensive sounds, a vibrating solo or accentuated accompaniment. Sebastian skilfully conducts his instrument and stylizes the band’s sound significantly. As an all-rounder he also plays the bass from time to time.

As an interplay Florian works the strings of the guitars intuitively. Bold strumming patterns, sensitive pickings or music expanding solos – his empathic tenor makes him a strong musician who knows when to take the lead or accompany subtly.
Julian made himself the business of reinventing the rhythmic units over and over, while still chiming together with the over all sound, providing the audience new rhythmic qualities. During rehearsals he is a constant source of impulses and ideas, not only does he refine the instrumental arrangements but also the singers’ harmonies.
Love liberates – a guideline that shapes the formation and which becomes topic of their songs again and again. For them spreading this message is a deeply need. These thoughts root in everyday life. They tell from dealing with each other, little incidents and encounters, talks with friends in cars past midnight, glowing children’s eyes, moments in which you look closer and moments you listen closely. About life. Inspired by their environment, zeitgeist and the lyric of such keen thinkers as Maya Angelou, Walt Whitman, Alan Ginsberg – JOSIE is on a journey of exploring one’s self in context of its surroundings.

JOSIE – more than a name. More than one person. More than one voice.
JOSIE – is community, a thought, an impulse.
JOSIE, that is all of us – you and me.
